"The Executive Master's program at HUC-JIR has provided me with an opportunity to learn about the latest in educational thinking from a uniquely Jewish perspective with our movement's leading professors. I have also met a wonderful group of educators in the other cohort participants which has allowed me a forum to bounce around new ideas, learn from their experiences, and build new friendships. HUC-JIR has gone out of its way to work with the latest technologies to provide a distance learning opportunity that has opened the doors of HUC-JIR to those of us who could not take off 3 years to study, in residence. I know that I speak for all of my fellow cohort members when I say how grateful we are to HUC-JIR and the Jim Joseph Foundation for making this wonderful opportunity available."
"I have, up until now, thought of myself more of an administrator than a visionary leader. After all, as long as the teachers have their weekly plans, the parents know where to go on a given Sunday, the Board gets its reports, the bulletin article gets written, kvetchy parents are taken care of, the budget comes in not too far from the original projections, and the cones are out in the parking lot, I've had a successful week. I had thought that the vision for the school is not in my purview. I realize now that it is my responsibility to also give the school direction and at the same time, base it on a foundation of ethical and moral behavior. I like the challenge and the higher purpose very much."
"I have enjoyed this class so much. It has pushed me into doing new things (text study alone), brought into sharp focus things I already knew (leadership skills) and helped me not only organize my thoughts, but set my next set of goals for our religious school. I took this class as the first step on my journey towards earning my executive masters. It has been so much more."
