NY Museum opening - Waldsee in NY

Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion Museum in New York cordially invites you to the reception for the following exhibition:

July 19 - August 19, 2005
Reception: Tuesday, July 19, 2005, 5:30 - 7:30 PM

An exhibition in memory of the annihilation of Hungarian Jewry during the summer of 1944, when Jews deported to their deaths at Auschwitz were required to write deceptive postcards from "Waldsee" to their families, reassuring them that all was well. Seventy international artists have created their own visual symbolism, in the form of the postcard, to commemorate the Hungarian Holocaust.
