 Dr. Eitan Fishbane to present at symposium on "Mystical Theology in Judaism, Christianity and Islam" March 16, 2005, Temple Ema nu-El, NYC Dr. Eitan Fishbane, Assistant Professor of Jewish Religious Thought, at HUC-JIR/Los Angeles, will moderate and participate in a symposium on "Mustical Theology in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam" -- the annual interfaith symposium for clergy at Congregation Emanu-El of the City of New York. The symposium will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, 9:30 am - 5 pm at the Temple's Leon Lowenstein Auditorium, Horace and Grace Goldsmith Building, located at 10 East 66th Street in New York City. The seminar has been convened by Rabbi David Posner (C' 73), Senior Rabbi of Temple Emanu-El, who explains "The Rabbis of antiquity placed hope in a world to come that would be the Yeshivah Shel Ma'alah -- The Academy on High. Because they understood that "talmud Torah k'neged kullam" -- the study of the Law was the greatest coommandment -- there could be no paradise greater than an eternity of learning. May this day of study be one of instruction and inspiration." The other participants in the seminar include Dr. Bernard McGinn, Naomi Shenstone Donnelley Professor Emeritus, University of Chicago Divinity School, and Dr. Michael A.
