John A. Golden Inducted onto the Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College-Jewish
Institute of Religion
John A. Golden was inducted as a member of the Board of Governors of Hebrew
Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion by Burton Lehman, Chair of the Board
of Governors, and Rabbi David Ellenson, President of HUC-JIR. Golden has served
as a member of the Board of Overseers of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute
of Religion in New York City.
“John Golden’s commitment to HUC-JIR’s mission is demonstrated
by his activism on behalf of recruitment. We look forward to his guidance in
strengthening our faculty, research, and student resources for the 21st century,”
stated Rabbi David Ellenson.
Golden is the founder of John A. Golden Associates, Inc., a financial advisory
firm based in New York City that invests in private and public companies. Golden
serves as member of the Board of Directors of Abercrombie & Fitch, the publicly
held specialty retailing company as well as Senior Bridge Family Companies,
a New York based eldercare management company. He is a retired general partner
of Goldman Sachs and Co., where he was a leader in its mergers and acquisition
advisory business for 20 years.
In addition, Mr. Golden is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Colgate University.
He is also a member of the Board of Visitors of Columbia Law School and a member
of the Board of Directors of The Michael Wolk Heart Foundation associated with
Cornell University –Weill Medical College in New York.
