Ms. Stahl was born in New York and split her growing up between Connecticut and the Chicago area. She earned a Bachelor of Science, Math/Computer Science and Bachelor of Arts, Linguistics, from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign in 1985. After working for a year, she continued her education at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati where she earned a Master of Arts, Bible and Cognate Studies. During her studies at HUC, Ms. Stahl worked at a student worker in the library. Upon graduation she worked there part time and then full time. She eventually went back to school to school to earn a Master of Library and Information Science degree at the University of Kentucky in December 2000. Ms. Stahl transferred to the Los Angeles campus in 2001 where she continues her work at reference and cataloging and overseeing the design and content of the Library website.
Ms. Stahl is an active member of the Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL) where she has held the position of Treasurer and is currently the Vice President of Membership. She is also active in the Southern California Area Theological Library Association.
She is a regular contributor to the AJL Reviews.
