Rabbi Renni Altman is currently the Associate Dean and Director of the Rabbinical Program on the New York campus of the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religions. She joined the administration of the College-Institute in 2008, having served for thirteen years as the Senior Associate Rabbi of Temple Beth-El of Great Neck, where she was involved in all aspects of congregational life but most especially in the areas of worship change, programming and adult education. Rabbi Altman has also held the position of Director of Programs for Reaching the Unaffiliated for the Union for Reform Judaism and Assistant Rabbi of Congregation Emanu El of Houston, Texas.
Rabbi Altman has served on the Convention Program Committee of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, as the New York Regional Coordinator for the Women’s Rabbinic Network and as the President of the Great Neck Clergy Association.
Rabbi Altman was ordained from the New York Campus of the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in 1988, having received her MAHL in 1986. She completed her undergraduate education at Cornell University in 1979 with a major in Communication Arts.
